Time Travel: BHS 1977 KI-CU-WA Staff Take a Break and Advertising for Now Defunct Parsons Souders

By Dick Duez on April 29, 2018 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo is from the June 1977 edition of the Shawnee Powwow and shows members of the KI-CU-WA yearbook staff having some fun and taking a break as deadlines were at hand.
At the time this ad ran in the same edition of the Shawnee Powwow listed above, Parsons Souders business was booming in downtown Clarksburg on the site of what today is the Clarksburg City Hall. The store was one of the last major retailers to leave the downtown area and morphed into Stone & Thomas at the Meadowbrook Mall and eventually that became the current Elder-Beerman, which recently announced they are closing all of their stores as part of the end of all brands under the Bon-Ton umbrella.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
