Time Travel: Bridgeport 1951 Patrols and Going to Taylor County's Prominent Fairgrounds in 1948

By Dick Duez on January 29, 2017 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This is yet another photo of the Bridgeport patrols, believed to be around 1951, in this photo courtesy of Tom Kinney. Police Chief John Diamond is among those pictured and they are in the area that now is the parking lot of the Bridgeport looking toward U.S. Route 50. If you know anyone in this photo, please feel free to identify them in the comment section below.
This photo, from 1948, is along U.S. Route 50 east of Bridgeport. It shows the Taylor County Fairgrounds. Does anyone have any memories of this once prominent fair?

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
