The date of this photo is unknown, but it involved a program held to honor the charter members of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. Although not sure of those photographed, it is believed to be the charter members attending. The charter members that attended this event decades ago include Mr. R.L. Messenger, Mrs. W.J. Herrington, Mrs. Margaret Luebbe, Mrs. Clarence Post, Mrs. J.B. Whiteman, Mrs. Dessie Swiger, Mrs. O.D. Goodwin, Mrs. T.P. Tyson, Mrs. Frank Cole, Mrs. Robert E. Dye, Mrs. George C. Morrison, Mrs. Amos Morgan, Mrs. D.D. Mader, Mrs. Ray Hess, Mrs. Rymer Furr, Mrs. Dwight Fowler, Mrs. Daisy A. Harris, Mrs. R.L. Cutlip, Mrs. Carl Workman, and Mrs. William D. Blackwell. This photo, believed to be from the early 1980s, is of the Beckley Fire Department Station No. 2. Although the fire protection was probably good, the house on the right probably had more than one night where alarms would keep things interesting in the middle of the night.
