Time Travel: Decades-Old Aerial View of Jamison Field and Defunct City Business and its Anmoore Start

By Dick Duez on July 17, 2022 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This image should look familiar. It is an aerial view of what is now Wayne Jamison Field. The exact date is not know, but it predates the turf project in the early 2000s. The white section in the foreground to the left is the roof of Johnson Elementary School. If anyone can date this photo, please do so in the comment section below.
This is the Master Marble Company at its original location in Anmoore. The business is believed to have its start in 1930. By 1941, the business was forced to relocate, and did so in Bridgeport. The building is part of the former Union Carbide business and the building shown to the right still stands on the site of the current entity in operations there now.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts Duez to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dickdo@citynet.net.
