Time Travel: Demolition of One of Bridgeport's Iconic Churches and Visiting Moorefield's McNeill Hotel

By Dick Duez on May 17, 2015 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

For year's, the All Saints Catholic Church was situated at this site on the corner of Philadelphia and Main Street before it was demolished. This photo was taken in 1993 and was a bittersweet day as my wife Norma and I were married in this building.

Although this photo said "about 1854," it's probably in the range of not quite a century later. The photo shows the Motel McNeill located in Moorefield. Is anyone familiar with this hotel's past? If so, please comment below.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
