Time Travel: Double Lumber Companies on Johnson Avenue and Victory High's Band at Hite Field in 1953

By Dick Duez on December 10, 2023 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

At one time, there were two hardware, lumber companies located right along Johnson Avenue. This photo shows Bauer Lumber in the area where Dan Cava Buick GMC sits today. The other lumber yard, 84 Lumber & Home Center was in operation until this decade. The property, which is currently vacant of business, is owned by Cava. This photo is believed to be from 1987.
Victory High School had a fairly large band during its days of existence. This photo, from 1953, shows the band posing for their group photo at Hite Field.
