Time Travel: Ellis Drive-In in City Decades Ago and the Sunset Ellis Restaurant as the Refreshment Center

By Dick Duez on February 19, 2023 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This old postcard's date is unknown, but it shows the layout of the former Ellis Dive-In situated in an area headlined by Wilson Martino Dental and a host of other businesses today. The road in the background is Route 50 and the hillside in the background is home to multiple businesses as well. This is one of two today featuring the Ellis family. As many things were at the time, the location was listed as Clarksburg although situated squarely in Bridgeport.
This photo, also date unknown, is from many years ago and shows the site of the Sunset Drive-In in Shinnston that also became home to the Ellis family restaurant, which just happed to reopen this week. At the time of this photo, the restaurant was known as the "Refreshment Center."
