Time Travel: Fireman's Fair Parade with Royalty from the 1940s and a Well-Known Grafton Restaurant

By Dick Duez on December 18, 2016 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo is believed to be from the Fireman's Fair Parade in 1948 and is courtesy of Jim Kinney.  Queens, or members of the fair's royalty, are shown heading down Main Street.
Anyone remember the Cross Roads Restaurant in Grafton? This photo, perhaps from the 1960s, shows the eating establishment that many in this area and beyond would travel to. It sat at the corner of U.S. Route 50 and Route 119.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
