Time Travel: First-Ever Jump Ball at Current BHS Gym and an Old Clarksburg Catholic Church Now Gone

By Dick Duez on March 14, 2021 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The first-ever jump ball the current Bridgeport High School gymnasium from the 1963-64 season. The guy in the white is Bridgeport's Mike Corder, while the man in the dark uniform is believed to be Notre Dame's Sam Granett.
This is look West along the old Philippi Pike in Clarksburg with the tower toward the right of the photo believed to be the old Trinity Catholic Church in the area where Jackson Park is located today.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@citynet.net.
