Time Travel: "Hawk" Romeo Honored in Mid-2000's and Demolition of a Historic Clarksburg School Site

By Dick Duez on July 19, 2020 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo, believed to be from the mid-2000s, shows the late Ron "Hawk" Romeo being recognized for his work as official as the state's "Football Official of the year." Presenting Romeo with the award is former WVSSAC Executive Director Mike Hayden, while football clinician Mike Webb is on the right.
This photo, believed to be around 2010, shows the demolition of the old Central Junior High and Towers School. The site is rich in history with ties going back to the Civil War.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection.
