Time Travel: Looking Back at Well-Known Local Barber and a Stop at Taylor County's Covered Bridge

By Dick Duez on August 21, 2016 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Although not sure of the event here, the man pictured is long-time local barber Bill Mick. Mick had a barber shop just alongside the old Alkire’s  5&10, which is now gone. This photo is from 1965. Does anyone remember Bill Mick? If so, share your memories below.
This is a photo of a covered in over the Cheat River on Route 50, east of Grafton. In 1964, it was no longer in use, but was destroyed by fires by youngsters making a fire to keep  warm.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
