Time Travel: Main Street Eatery in Historic Building in City

By Dick Duez on October 03, 2021 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This site look familiar? It should. Today, the Benedum Civic Center sits on this location. This photo, believed to be from the early 1950s, shows Weber's Home Lunch located there. The building is actually the old Benedum House, where Michael Benedum was born in 1869. Later in the 1950s, the Civic Center that still stands ws built. Note to the far right is a stone marker placed in 1835 to show the mileage in building the Northwest Virginia Turnpike. The marker is still there today.
