Time Travel: Man Who Photographed City's History and Decades Rewind to Grafton and Car Dealership

By Dick Duez on November 18, 2018 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

Shown above is Bob Nichols, who sadly passed away earlier this month. Nichols was the owner of The Bell Studio where he not only captured moments for individuals in Bridgeport and beyond, but he also had the wisdom many years ago to capture images of many businesses throughout Bridgeport, including dozens that no longer exist. His photos are shown frequently in this blog. This particular photo is from a Bridgeport High School Yearbook ad in 1965.
The date and time of this photo is unknown. However, it was taken in Grafton several decaces ago in front of what appears to be a car dealership or service station - or perhaps a business that combined both. If you have any information on this photo, including three men pictured, feel free to add in the comment section below.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard
"Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
