Time Travel: One of City's Most Beloved Figures from 1996 and the Immaculate Conception Church

By Dick Duez on June 19, 2016 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

One of the City of Bridgeport's most recognizable faces, Mike Salvio on the right, was a long-time member of the Bridgeport Police and Fire Departments who we beloved throughout the municipality and beyond. This photo, from 1996, is at a police function. If anyone has any details on the event and who he is pictured with feel free to comment below.
One of the most familiar churches in Harrison County is the Immaculate Conception Church on Pike Street in Clarksburg. This is one of the earlier photos of the Catholic church.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
