Time Travel: Prominent City Business in its Location in 1962 and Philippi Covered Bridge after 1989 Fire

By Dick Duez on November 21, 2021 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This photo shows the offices of Dr. H.M. Murray, optometrist, when it was located on 118 East Main Street. The photo was taken by Bob Nichols in 1962. Today, the building still stands and the Murray name is still on it. However, it is operated today by Roger A. Murray, CPA.
The historic Philippi Covered Bridge survived the Civil War and the flood of 1985, but did not fare well after this fire in February of 1989. It has since been restored and remains one of the area's and state's top tourist draws.
