Football has been a Bridgeport tradition for decades. This photo is believed to be from the 1949 season and it is likely many of the things taught offensively and defensively are the same as what is being taught more than 70 years later. Southern West Virginia decades ago was like most parts of West Virginia is downtown areas in cities were generally thriving. This photo, which date is unknown but could be from the 1970s, is of downtown Madison in Boone County.
