By Dick Duez on October 04, 2015 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The end of an era came a little more than a decade ago when this old city building at the corner of Main and Center Street met its demise in August of 2003 after 100 years of use by various businesses. It was Initially built to house all the city functions, but saw multiple uses. Can anyone remember any past businesses that were in the building? If so, please add to the comment section below.

For decades, Watt Powell Park was the home of minor league baseball in West Virginia. And it was also the home of the state baseball tournament. Many may have witnessed the Charleston Charlies playing their games at this stadium, which is no longer in use.
