Time Travel: Wayne Jamison and Players from 1987 and Visiting Rowlesburg and Cool Springs Park

By Dick Duez on September 18, 2016 from History Blog via Connect-Bridgeport.com

This is a program photo from 1987 and shows the legendary Wayne Jamison to the left. These are believed to be junior football players from that season. We're missing their identification so if you know the two players photographed here, please provide that information in the comment section below.

Look familiar? This 1970s photo shows a spot many have traveled to over the years and is still there today. It's Cool Springs Park in Rowlesburg, which is east of Bridgeport on U.S. Route 50. Known for its old trains, livestock on the grounds and footlong hot dogs and more, many take a day trip to the location.

Editor's Note: This ongoing photo feature of pictures from Bridgeport and throughout the Mountain State is part of local historian Richard "Dick" Duez's collection. Duez, the unofficial historian of Bridgeport, would appreciate any scanned photos emailed to him for use here or to include in his ongoing efforts to preserve local history. You can email photos, or let him know how to acquire copies of photos you may have in your possession, to Duez at dick.do@frontier.com.
