It's Happening: A Glorious Day Photo Essay

By Julie Perine on October 16, 2016 from It’s Happening via Connect-Bridgeport.com

I’ve heard it said more than once this week: A picture is worth a thousand words.

On this beautiful autumn Sunday - the weather as pristine as the outdoor atmosphere here in our city - it seems appropriate to post this photo blog, rather than write one.

Over past months and weeks, many have experienced severe weather woes as floods ravaged our southern West Virginia neighbors and just over a week ago, Hurricane Matthew forced through the homes and property of some residents in southern U.S.

We have much to be thankful for here in North Central West Virginia. And on this Lord’s Day, many were outdoors soaking up the mid-October sunshine – walking, playing with their dogs, taking photos, fishing and just enjoying Mother Nature’s gift. When the sun struck the changing leaves - some crimson red, some brilliant gold - it was a most beautiful sight.
