Competitive crawlers in Meadowbrook Mall’s very first Baby & Me Day are driving cars. For 15 years, the mall has partnered with West Virginia Healthy Start/HAPI Project and UniCare Health Plan of WV, Inc. to host the event, which is informative and fun.

 

The 15^th Annual Baby & Me Day will be held at the mall 10 a.m. through 1 p.m. Saturday. March 2.

 

“The event is so beneficial if you’re planning to have a baby, you’re already pregnant or you have a child toddler age or younger,” said Robin Urquhart, Meadowbrook Mall marketing director. “There are so many health resources that will be represented at this year’s event for you and your child and you’re able to talk to them one on one.”

 

The first 200 moms to register at the WDTV5 Event Center will receive goody bags from “Parents Magazine, The First Year.” All registered moms will be eligible to win over $2,500 in door prizes. Each will receive 20 raffle tickets.

 

“The prizes that are provided by WV Healthy Start/HAPI Project are always a crowd favorite,” Urquhart said. “Moms are able to register only for the prizes that they would actually like to win and could use. Prizes include everything from a breast pump to baby gates and even a digital camera to take family photos.”

 

Starting at noon at the WDTV5 Event Center will be the popular UniCare Baby Crawl Contest at 10 a.m. Babies must be no older than 12 months of age and not yet walking to be eligible. There will be prizes awarded during each heat of the contest and the overall winner will win a jogging stroller. Registration for the Baby Crawl Contest begins at 10 a.m.

 

Following the Baby Crawl Contest will be drawings for other door prizes.

 

Baby & Me Day is free and open to the public and offers valuable information about health, car seat installation demos, fun activities and door prizes galore.

 

Participants to date include UniCare Health Plan of WV, Inc., Clarksburg-Harrison Public Library, HOPE, Life Choice, Pregnancy Resource Center of Marion County, Right From the Start-Region VII RLA, Spread the Vote, Project I.D WV, STJ/WVU Center for Women’s Health, The Health Plan, UHC – Family Medicine, UHC-Family Medicine, UHC-Maternal Child, WV Birth to Three-Region 2, WV Healthy Start/HAPI Project, WV WIC Harrison Co./Monongalia County Health Dept., WVU Dept. of OB/GYN, WVU Dept. of OB/GYN ACE Program, WVU Medicine Children’s and WVU School of Dentistry.
