68th Annual Bridgeport Lions Club Pancake Feed Scheduled for Saturday at Benedum Civic Center

By Julie Perine on November 30, 2015 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

For 67 years, the Bridgeport Lions Club has been cooking pancakes for community members as the month of December kicks off and holiday excitement is in the air.

This year will be no different. The 68th annual event is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Benedum Civic Center. Although a steady stream of breakfast and brunch guests are expected, the largest amount of customers are anticipated following the annual Jingle Bell Jog and Bridgeport Christmas Parade. Those events are slated for 8:30 and 10 a.m., respectively. (Read about those events at the provided links.)

Pancake feed tickets, compliments of Ford Funeral Home, can be purchased through any Bridgeport Lions Club member or at the door. The donation is $8 for adults and $5 for children age six to 12. Children age five and under eat free.

The menu consists of pancakes and sausage; coffee and orange juice. Each year, proceeds from the event are utilized to fund the civic club’s many community projects, including the distribution of eyeglasses and organization of the annual Easter Egg Hunt for the visually impaired.

Photos from the 2014 event were taken by Tyler Maxwell of Ben Queen Photography.
