The American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at Benedum Civic Center through 7 p.m. today, Tues., June 28. Sponsored by Bridgeport High School, the drive is open to the public and walk-ins are welcome. According to a Red Cross representative, donations received today will be taken to Johnstown, Pa. this evening. From there, they will be sent out to national laboratories for testing and as soon as that process is completed, they will be available to the hospitals served by the American Red Cross Greater Allegheny Region which serves West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. The Benedum Civic Center is located on West Main Street Bridgeport between the Dairy Queen and Bridgeport Pool.
