BHS Journalism Brings Home a Dozen Awards from WVU High School Journalism Competition

Bridgeport High School students attended the annual WVU High School Journalism Competition banquet in the ballroom of the Mountainlair on April 11 from 6-8 p.m.
 
Students taking home trophies were as follows:  Jonathan Griffith – advertising, first place; Ryan Sprouse – broadcasting, second place; Tristan Quinones – broadcasting, third place; Jeff McCullough - critical review, third place; Tre Trecost - feature layout and design; first place; Andrea Cooper - feature layout and design; third place; Maggie Lohmann - feature writing; first place; Andrea Cooper – photography, first place; Claire Marnic – photography, second place; Rebecca Turnbull - public relations, first place; Alaina Shreves - public relations, second place; Ryan Sprouse - sports writing, second place
 
Students had submitted works in their chosen categories to the WVU School of Journalism where they were judged by members of the faculty.
 
"I'm so proud of these students; they take this competition very seriously," said adviser Alice Rowe.
