BHS Student Council Leading "Pink Out" at Friday's Indians-KHS Game; Community Asked to Participate

With the excitement and duties of Homecoming behind them, Bridgeport High School Student Council is moving on to their next project.

This Friday night, students will be trading in their Bridgeport red for a good cause. At the contest between the Indians and the Keyser Golden Tornado, the student section theme is a “Pink Out” to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month and they hope that members of the community will join them.

Before the game and at halftime, members of BHS Student Council will be collecting donations for the Betty Puskar Breast Cancer Center. In addition to general collection, Student Council will be selling pink temporary face tattoos for students to wear to the game. These tattoos will be on sale for $1 on Friday during both lunches and at the pregame tailgate beginning at 6 p.m. in the City Park.

Chairs of the fundraising event are senior Student Council Executive Board members Hanna Stolzenfels and Kaylissa Lynch. Lynch said she is helping to plan the event because, “My grandma passed away from breast cancer, so this event is very important to me.”

As for Stolzenfels, she said she is glad to be working on the project.

“The Pink Out game is always a really fun game and getting the student body and community involved will hopefully help us raise a lot of money to donate toward finding a cure,” said Stolzenfels.
