Hundreds of the newest makes and models are invading Charles Pointe this week for the 2nd Annual Battle in Bridgeport. It’s a friendly battle, but one revving up with plenty of competitive spirit.

“It’s a four-day event with five dealers – including ourselves,” said Matt Thurston, manager at Urse Honda.

Joining Urse are Harry Green Chevrolet Nissan and Jenkins Subaru, both of Bridgeport, Freedom Kia of Clarksburg and Toothman Ford of Grafton.

“Each dealership will bring roughly 100 vehicles and we’ll have like a battle to see who can sell the most cars,” said Thurston, referring to the Battle at Bridgeport site, in the large field across from the plaza which houses Buffalo Wild Wings and Mia Margherita.

Urse Honda’s offerings will be across the board.

“We’ll have all our new Honda models up there – from Fits, Accords and CR-Vs to Pilots and Ridgelines – our full product line,” Thurston said. “Every type of Honda made will be up there, on display and for sale.”

Participating dealers will be set up for full operation.

“We’ll have lenders lined up and everything will be taken care of on the spot,” Thurston said. “You can actually come in, trade your vehicle and drive off in a new one.”

Last year’s inaugural event was very successful.

“We were pleased and did very well,” said Thurston. “(Urse Honda) sold over 50 vehicles. I don’t know what the total was for the entire group.”

The battle kicks off today and extends through Sunday.
