Big Daddy's Discount Furniture Now Operating Under Star Furniture & Mattress Clearance Center

Big Daddy's Discount Furniture on West Main Street, Bridgeport is now operating as Star Furniture & Mattress Clearance Center.
“It’s the same business, but under new ownership, and the new owners preferred a change in name,” said Justin Thompson, who has managed the store since its March 2015 opening.
The clearance center and Star Furniture on Emily Drive, Clarksburg, previously owned by the Spurlock family are now owned by Providence Enterprises out of Charleston.
As always, Star Furniture & Mattress Clearance Center carries inventory spillover and floor models from Star and Ashley stores, warranty switch-outs, some returned items and other brand-new furniture pieces.
But there is one change at the store – and it’s a positive.
“We now offer financing and delivery,” Thompson said.
The name change is reflected through new signage and the absence of a Big Daddy Furniture icon – the giant red chair.
Starting April 30, new store hours will be 9:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. A May 4 super sale will also be observed.
“We’ll be doing additional discounts on some of the clearance stuff we have here,” Thompson said.
Star Furniture & Mattress Clearance Center is located at 414 West Main Street, Bridgeport.
