Boil Water Advisory for Sections of Clarksburg Lifted

By Connect-Bridgeport Staff on February 20, 2024 via Connect-Bridgeport.com

The Precautionary Boil Water Advisory that was issued on Monday, February 19, 2024, for all water customers in Chestnut Hills (including Adams Drive, Arthur Avenue, Camden Street, Cleveland Street, Collins Street, Garfield Road, Hayes Street, Kramer Drive, Monroe Avenue, Polk Street, Roosevelt Road, Ryan Road, South Chestnut Street, Taylor Street, Thorn Street, and Van Buren Street) has been lifted.

Testing indicates that Clarksburg Water Board's water is now safe for drinking and human consumption purposes. It is no longer necessary to boil your tap water or for you to consume bottled water. Because water flow was disrupted, flushing of the system was done to remove sediment and assist in maintaining water quality and clarity.

Customers may experience discolored water, but it is not a health hazard. Officials recommend running the hot and cold water faucets in your home for five to ten minutes to clear any discolored water from your pipes.

The Clarksburg Water Board would like to thank their customers for their patience and understanding during the time of this Advisory. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
