If the phrase “Back to School” doesn’t excite area school students, perhaps “Pretty Little Liars” and Disney’s “Jessie” will.

 

Area kids and teens – and their parents – are invited to help Meadowbrook Mall celebrate the onset of the 2016-17 school year. Not only will the July 30-31 event showcase styles and must-haves for back-to-school, but it will also feature some stars from students’ favorite TV shows.

 

The mall will host Brendan Robinson of the Freeform TV series “Pretty Little Liars” on Saturday, July 30 and Peyton List of Disney’s “Jessie” and “Bunk’d” on Sunday, July 31.

 

“Brendan Robinson will be at Sears Court 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 30 to meet the public and Peyton List will be at the same location 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 31,” said Robin Urquhart, Meadowbrook Mall marketing director. “Fans are invited to come meet the stars, take photos and get autographs.”

 

Having held star-studded meet and greets in 2014 and 2015, the mall has become known for bringing in young celebrities to give their shoppers an experience that they may never have had otherwise, Urquhart said.

 

This is Peyton List’s second appearance. She helped open the Connect-Bridgeport Kids’ Zone during the summer of 2014. In late-August of 2015, the mall hosted Skai Jackson of Disney’s “Jessie" and Peyton Meyer of the network’s “Girl Meets World." 

 

Urquhart said she’s excited for this year’s celebrity meet and greet, as well as unveiling what’s new for the back-to-school season.

 

Beginning July 9, customers who present $100 in same-day mall store receipts at the customer service desk will qualify for a fast pass for one of the celebrity appearances. The fast passes will be granted while supplies last and they must be brought to the designated meet and greet. 

 

"It doesn't matter what time you get there, if you have a fast pass, you'll go to the front of the line," Urquhart said.
