How would you like to be a part of setting a record for the Guinness Book of World Records?

On Monday, Sept. 22, Bridgeport Annuity Exchange will be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the most business cards collected in a 24-hour period.  The record currently stands at 414, so the local community will have the opportunity to put Bridgeport in the record books by participating in this event. The event will coincide with National Women’s Day and owners of all local businesses are encouraged to drop their cards in the collection bin for a chance to win a prize.

Bridgeport Annuity Exchange, located next to Oliverio’s Restaurant, is a one-stop business that offers business consulting, tax services, retirement planning and financial solutions for businesses and individuals.  They will be cate
gorizing collected cards and displaying them in an effort to refer business to local companies. “We anticipate around 500 clients come through our door each year and we frequently refer them to other clients for services from contracting to doctors to printing and more.   In a small community, networking is what keeps small businesses alive.  By collecting and displaying the cards, Bridgeport Annuity Exchange hopes to create an atmosphere that helps local businesses as well as those seeking services,” said Jason McCall.

The event, which will be held at the Bridgeport Annuity Exchange’s office, will take place from 8:00-6:00. Refreshments will be served and live music will be performed by local music great Lauren Starkey.  For anyone wishing for an on-site consultation, employees will be available to answer any questions.

During the event, sunglasses will be for sale that benefits Team Jack.  Dr. Cindy Zwolensky of Sterling Optical donated the glasses and all proceeds will go toward   3-year-old Jack Rollin’s fight against cancer.  Bridgeport Annuity Exchange will also match 25% of all donations up to $1000 for the cause.

In addition to the record attempt, Bridgeport Annuity Exchange will be extending a special offer in October.  Pick up a “Pink Card” at the event and the company will donate $25 to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for each tax return prepared by them.
