Bridgeport City Pool opens for the summer season at 12 noon Saturday, May 27. As  is tradition, entry to "Splash Day" - which also includes access to the spray ground- is free.

The pool will be open through 6 p.m. that day.

The facility will thereafter be open 12-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12:30-6 p.m. Sundays. Family swim nights will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Admission to family night is $3 for all ages. Lap swim sessions will be held 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at $2 per session.
Pool admission is $3.50 for children age 3-11, $4.50 for ages 12 and over, $3.50 for seniors age 55 and over. Discount tickets and season passes are currently available for purchase at the office of the Benedum Civic Center.

Sally Hastings of Bridgeport Parks and Recreation said there is still limited availability for swim lessons in the Jellyfish and Sharks classes. Registration opened April 15 with most classes filled that day. Pool rentals have also been completely booked, Hastings said, but the Boy Scout room at the pool facility does have some limited availability for rental.

Bridgeport city staff has worked diligently for several weeks to prepare the pool. Parks and Recreation Director Don Burton said the pool interior received a fresh coat of paint and the pool deck has been cleaned as never before. The lounge chairs are in place and the concession stand is stocked and ready for the summer season.
