Bridgeport Gets Mention in National Sports Magazine

For those who love the game of golf and for those who love the City of Bridgeport, there was a special treat inside a recent edition of Golf Digest. And it came in the November, 2018 edition of that popular periodical.

In a story titled "Pete Dye's Final Chapter," it talks all about the member of the World Golf Hall of Fame who is, in fact, known worldwide for his specially designed golf courses. Of course, one bears his name exclusively and sits in Bridgeport's backyard.

The Pete Dye Golf Club just off Meadowbrook Road is consistently ranked as one of the top courses in the country. It's been that way since Dye designed and allowed his name to be put on it decades ago.

In this edition of Golf Digest, the main photo of Dye in the opening layout shows Dye looking over work of the course. In the caption, it mentions Bridgeport and says the photo was taken in the early 1990s.

Golf Digest can be found at bookstores and other outlets selling magazines across the nation.

Editor's Note: Photo is of the magazine layout showing Pete Dye at the course he designed and is named for him in Harrison County.
