Bridgeport High School Announces Kress and Hineman as the Students of the Month for December

Bridgeport High School has announced that Mackenzie Kress and Cooper Hineman are the Students of Month for December.
 
MacKenzie Kress is the daughter of Dr. Theodore and Terri Kress of Bridgeport. She has been a member of BHS Danceline all four years of her high school career and is currently a senior co-captain of the team. She was a member of an All Star Hip Hop team her freshman and sophomore years, when she traveled to Disney World in Orlando and placed first in the " Open" category. She recently participated in the senior play, Sister Act, as a member of the ensemble.
 
Kress has been a member of Student Council all four years. She served as freshman class president, student body membership officer, and currently holds the position of student body representative. Kress currently serves on the National Honor Society Executive Board where she is the Corresponding Secretary. She has twice received the Student Council Outstanding Leadership Award.
 
Kress was also a Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar Ambassador her sophomore year, and returned to serve on operations staff for the camp her junior year. She has been a member of the Bridgeport chapter of Drug Free Clubs of America since its introduction to the school her sophomore year.
 
Kress plans to attend college in the fall at Ohio University where she will pursue a major in Information Design from the Scripps College of Communication.
 
Cooper Hineman is the son of Todd and Janelle Hineman. He is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and Drug Free Club. This past summer he attended West Virginia Mountaineer Boys State at Jacksons Mill. After graduating Cooper plans to attend West Virginia University and pursue a degree in engineering.
 
Hineman is a member of the golf, baseball and wrestling team. In baseball, he is a two­ time state champion, receiving the all-tournament team honor during the 2016 state tournament. Hineman was also named 1st team All Big 10 this past season. As a member of the wrestling team he serves as captain. At the 2017 state tournament he placed 6th in the 160 pound class. He was also named BB&T Athlete of the Week and Harrison County Wrestler of the Year this past season.
