Bridgeport High School Students Fare Well at DECA Career Development Conference Held in Charleston

The West Virginia DECA Career Development Conference was held March 3-4 at the Charleston Marriott and hosted more than 250 students and advisors from throughout the state. DECA competition judges assess students on a variety of indicators including exams, role-plays, presentations, projects, or a combination of these.
 
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.
 
Lead by BHS DECA Advisor and Business Education Teacher Macy Jackson, the Bridgeport High School students who competed and their competition category were Zain Asif, Principles of Hospitality and Tourism; Cassandra Marsh, Human Resources Management; William Madden, Marketing Communications; Chloe Marsh, Principles of Business Administration; as well as team events with Jacob Holcomb and Grayson Church, Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team; and Audrey Kerr and Gabriella Horne, Hospitality Services Team Decision Making. 
 
The BHS DECA club had three students place in the top three in their competition event. 
 
Chloe Marsh earned second place in the Principles of Business Management and Administration event. 
 
Audrey Kerr and Gabriella Horne earned third place in the Hospitality Services Team Decision Making event.
