Bridgeport Man Among Five Convicted, Sentenced in Federal Court as Part of Steroid Distribution Ring

FROM THE OFFICE OF THE UNITED STATS ATTORNEY, NORTHERN DISTRICT OF WEST VIRGINIA
 
Five individuals have been convicted and sentenced in federal court for unlawful steroid distribution, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
 
Carl R. Benedict, 50, Anthony F. DiDomenico, III, 29, both of Morgantown, Richard J. Pinelli, Jr., 28, of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, Joseph B. Greco, 27, of New Castle, Pennsylvania, and Derek S. Starn, 34, of Bridgeport, each pled guilty to a criminal Information charging them with one count of “Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Substance – Testosterone.” They were each sentenced to probation for a period of six months.
 
Special Assistant U.S. Attorney John Parr prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The United States Postal Service, the Food and Drug Administration, the Mon Metro Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration investigated.
 
U.S. Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull presided.
