Bridgeport Middle School Lady Braves Basketball Team Finish as Harrison County Runner-Up

The Bridgeport Middle School girls’ basketball team opened the first round of the Harrison County Tournament on Monday evening, February 13. The girls were victorious with a 53-24 victory over South Harrison Middle School. Leading scorers for the Lady Braves were Sarah Haynes with 14, Madison Chumley with 9, and Paige Humble with 8. The girls continued action in the second round of the tournament with a victory over Washington Irving Middle School by a score of 37-24. Haynes and Humble again led the scorers this night with 12 and 11 points respectively. This win punched their ticket to the title game with Lincoln Middle School. After an exciting game, the girls were defeated 39-27, but walked away runner up for the year. Leading scorers for this game were Humble with 14, Haynes with 7, and Annamarie Pinti with 6.
 
The players on the team are Anna-Eileen Forinash, Alexa Martin, Meagan Hutcheson, Emma Dotson, Olivia Kesling. Front – Alex Chumley, Gabby Reep, Elizabeth Deniker, Annamarie Pinti, Madison Chumley, Sarah Haynes, and Hannah Bartlett.
 
The BMS Lady Braves are coached by Rick Borders and Kenny Edwards.
