Bridgeport Police Arrest Man for Main Street Business Incident Resulting in First Degree Robbery Charge

At 10:54 a.m. today (Jan. 14), the Bridgeport Police Department units were dispatched to Family Dollar on West Main Street for a suspect brandishing a weapon while committing a larceny from the store. The suspect fled the store prior to officer’s arrival. 
 
Upon arrival officers learned that the suspect was attempting to steal merchandise from the store and when confronted, he pulled a handgun from his waist band and pointed it at the clerk.  
 
Bridgeport Police Officers located the suspect, David William Lutz, 40, years old of Sunberry, Pa., nearby with a loaded 9mm weapon on his person.  He was taken into custody and charged with 1st Degree Robbery. 
 
Lutz was arraigned before Magistrate Frank Demarco who set bond at $25,000.00 Lutz has been incarcerated in lieu of posting bond.
