Bridgeport Police Assist in Case that Sends Woman to Prison for Heroin Distribution Near County School

Jalisa L. Hawkins, of Duquesne, Pennsylvania, was sentenced today to 77 months incarceration for her role in a heroin distribution operation, United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
 
Hawkins, also known as “Ashley,” age 30, pled guilty to one count of “Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin” and one count of “Distribution of Heroin in Proximity of a Protected Location” in June 2019. Hawkins admitted to distributing heroin, sometimes near Emmanuel Christian School in Clarksburg, from January 2016 to May 2016 in Harrison County and elsewhere.
 
Assistant U.S. Attorney Traci M. Cook prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Greater Harrison Drug and Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated. Bridgeport Police have members on the Task Force and Chief John Walker is the chairman.
 
Senior U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
