Bridgeport's Hannah Povroznik Selected to Represent West Virginia at Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference in DC

Bridgeport High School senior Hannah Povroznik is representing West Virginia at the Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference in Washington, DC this week. One student from each state was accepted. The acceptance came with all expenses paid and a $1,000 college scholarship award. 
 
The annual Al Neuharth Free Spirit and Journalism Conference program targets rising high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism and who demonstrate qualities of “free spirit.”
 
It is held June 14-20 at the Newseum, located at 555 Pennsylvania Ave., NW.
 
This Freedom Forum Institute program was established in 1999 to honor Al Neuharth, the founder of USA Today, Newseum and the Freedom Forum.
 
The conference is designed to inspire and encourage students to pursue journalism.
