Bridgeport's Lauren Hogue a WVU Noyce Scholar

Lauren Hogue, from Bridgeport is a West Virginia University Noyce Scholar, according to the WVUTeach Facebook page of West Virginia University.
 
Hogue, who plans to student teach next semester, is a YoungLife leader for middle schoolers in her hometown and loves boating and being on the water. As it relates to WVUteach, what she loves the most is the friends she's been able to make. After graduation she hopes to stay in North Central WV to teach high school algebra or calculus. 
 
The Noyce Scholarship as West Virginia University is done with the support of the National Science Foundation (grant number 1660713). The Robert Noyce Scholarship Program supports individuals pursuing a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree and teaching certification through WVUteach to become science and mathematics teachers in the secondary schools. The Robert Noyce Scholarship is a scholarship program that provides up to $14,500 per year to junior and senior students participating in the WVUteach program at West Virginia University. Students are required to teach for two years for each year of scholarship support.
