We all have a story to tell. Bridgeport’s Paula Flint has been sharing her story for years, through her video posts, her study groups, her book clubs and her book, Life Coach. Her story has now taken her to the Clarksburg City Mission where she is guiding others in discovering and sharing their own stories in an effort to live their best lives.

Every Thursday evening from 6:00p.m. to 7:00p.m., Flint offers a free mindfulness class to teach participants how to be physically, mentally, and emotionally present. Through practice and application, the group is learning how to be comfortable with themselves and others and to gain the strength to stop focusing on the past or the future.

In addition to being an author, Flint works as an Addictions Therapist at Valley Healthcare Systems, owns her own Inner Life Coach business, and is a Reiki Master Teacher.  Through her personal journey, she has found that each experience manifests in the mind, body and spirit, creating an opportunity to explore what is to be learned.

“I lead the group at the Clarksburg City Mission through exercises that empower them to become more comfortable with themselves and others,” said Flint.  “We are working on being able to sit silently and focus on a combination of prayer, meditation and concentration in order to be fully present.”

Mindfulness has been proven to reduce stress, increase tolerance and improve focus.  Through calmness, clarity and concentration, the ancient practice if finding new pathways that enhance relationships and improve the quality of life for participants.

“The people I have been working with at the mission have been very receptive to the classes and we are creating a network of participants who can lift up and encourage each other,” said Flint.  “We are working to focus on the peace in our own bodies, heads and hearts so we can serve others with authenticity.”
