Celebrate the end of summer with a weekend full of recreation, music, food and family fun, including a performance by County Music Association (CMA) “Emerging Artist” Shane Runion and a spectacular fireworks display Sunday September 3 to cap off a great Labor Day holiday at Stonewall Resort.

Samantha Norris, community outreach director for Stonewall Resort, said, “We have put together a great schedule of activities and entertainment this Labor Day weekend.  These events are open to all day visitors and resort guests.  The weekend culminates in a fabulous musical performance and fireworks show over Stonewall Jackson Lake on Sunday night.”

Family fun is a cornerstone of any visit to Stonewall and Labor Day Weekend takes it to a new level.  In addition to championship golf, spa services and the plethora of lake activities guests can enjoy, the resort has planned an array of activities, to include live music, family games and activities and outdoor adventure.

The resort will offer live music throughout the weekend.  Artists scheduled to perform include: Dustin McCray, Samantha Fox & The Hound Dogs, Hollerwood featuring Nina Sharp, DJ Gen Pop, and John Henry.  As part of the resort’s Summer Concert Series, CMA Emerging Artist "Shane Runion" (Country Band) will perform Sunday evening at 7 p.m. on the Terrace Lawn.  The concert is sponsored by the Stonewall State Park Foundation.
Shane Runion is a Nashville recording artist winning over listeners by storm with catchy originals and a knack for entertaining. His unique raspy voice, guitar playing, and rock-and-roll image make him instantly recognizable, with high-energy live shows that leave audiences wanting more. With the success of 2 songs going viral, topping European/Australian charts, and being selected as a CMA “Emerging Artist”… it is no doubt that the rest of the world is recognizing this artist on the rise.

On Sunday evening at dark, guests will be treated to a spectacular fireworks display over Stonewall Jackson Lake. There is a $5 per car admission fee to enter the park.

Lawn games and craft making will be available at Bright Star Park and in the Family Fun Room throughout the weekend.  Guests can also choose to relax by the resort’s outdoor pool, complete with cash bar and a hotdog stand.  And, the Resort Outfitter’s Pass provides access to Aqua Cycles, kayaks, canoes, stand up paddle boards, paddle boats and other lake-focused activities.
