Clarksburg Fire Chief Rick Scott confirmed that one individual, a male, is dead after the car he was driving was struck by a tree. The accident happened at 8:52 a.m. Sunday on West Pike Street in Adamston. Scott said the roof of the vehicle – a passenger car – had to be removed to extract the driver, who was dead on impact.
