SUBMITTED BY CITY OF BRIDGEPORT AND BRIDGEPORT PARKS AND RECREATION

Randy Wetmore, City Manager and Joe Shuttleworth, Director of Parks and Recreation want the public to know that according to the Governor’s decree yesterday that all playgrounds are closed.  You will notice signs going up at the playgrounds that they are closed.

Also, there will be signs up at the basketball courts stating that no organized or pick-up games are allowed.

With that being said, both know that people will want to get out of their homes and get some fresh air.  They want people to come to the parks and use the trails.  But as is being said over and over, maintain social distancing or keeping at least 6 feet from each other at a minimum while in the parks or on the trails.

We realize the changes in our everyday lives is a difficult.  But this is what we need to be doing so we can protect not only ourselves but everyone else as well.

Thank you for your assistance.
