The team finished the competitive season as runner-up team in Class AA Region 2 and had five wrestlers qualify for the WVSSAC state high school wrestling tournament at Big Sandy Super Store Arena in Huntington Feb. 21-23.

The Tribe’s Austin Gibson captured the state championship in the 160-pound division and Kavaugh Summers placed third in his division, bringing his record to 38-1 for the season. Also competing for the Indians were Aidan Gibson, Derek Starkey and Bladen Roush. The Indian wrestling team was coached by Chris Courtney (head), Ryan Courtney and Jonathan Sigley.
