For a couple of hours today, individuals traveling along Main Street likely noticed a substantial number of police, fire and emergency personnel. And they may have eventually been caught up in traffic as the Bridgeport Police Department was called to the scene of a 911 call to assist the Bridgeport Fire Department.

 

According to a press release from the Bridgeport PD, at noon officers responded to the location on West Main Street in the area of Mustard Seed Primitives. The press release said the Bridgeport Fire Department found a deceased female. Upon entry to the location, officers located a female subject already deceased. The release said she was found in the bedroom of the residence.

 

After law enforcement documented the scene, members of the fire department removed the body, the release states. The release further states that the body was sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

 

The death is currently under investigation. Officer T. Rutherford is handling the investigation.
