FROM THE CITY OF CLARKSBURG

The City Parks of Clarksburg SPLASH ZONE Water Park will open for its fourth season on Saturday, May 28, park officials recently announced.

John Cooper, Superintendent of Parks, said, “This weekend’s weather forecast is calling for temperatures as high as 90 degrees. What better way to beat the heat, than by lounging in a lazy river?”

The family oriented SPLASH ZONE water park includes a 25-meter competition pool, lazy river, 6 water slides including 2 tower water slides, beach-entry pool and lagoon, padded children area and plenty of fun and exciting tipping buckets, sprinklers, funbrellas and other surprises designed to keep you cool this summer.

“We’re looking forward to another great summer,” Cooper added. “We truly enjoy seeing so many families spending time at the parks, the concerts, the outdoor movies and at the water park. These experiences are a great way to get outside and create lifelong memories with loved ones.”

The admission rates have remained consistent from last year’s rates at $9 for adults, $7 for children and senior citizens, and $5 for anyone after 4pm. The price of admission does include all-day use of the water slides. The water park’s hours of operation will be 12:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Saturday.

Frequent SPLASH ZONE visitors may also be interested in the season pass. These passes give guests unlimited admission for the season and are available for purchase at the water park. Guests can also purchase fun passes, which act as a gift card towards water park admission, the mini-golf course, and water park concession stands. This pass is great for children as they can leave actual cash at home. It also gives discounted admission rates to the water park as well as to the mini golf course.

City park officials have also just announced the complete 2016 “Movies in the Park” summer line up at www.ClarksburgAMP.com. In addition, the newly released Thursday night “Music in the Parks” calendar is now available online. Both entertainment options continue to feature free admission to the public.
