Bridgeport Police are investigating a three-vehicle accident which happened on Route 131/Benedum Drive just after 12 p.m. today.

The incident occurred when the driver of a Ford Edge failed to yield to right-of-way, coming off White Oaks Boulevard and onto Route 131.

“The Edge was then struck by a 2011 Honda Odyssey and after those two vehicles collided, the Odyssey collided with a 2011 Kia Sportage that was stopped at the stop sign on South Wedge Street (near the new Black Bear Exxon), said Bridgeport Police Sgt. A. Scott Floyd.

All three vehicles were towed due to damage, but there were no injuries, Floyd said.

Floyd is the investigating officer on the accident. He was also on the scene of an 8 a.m. accident on Interstate 79.

“One vehicle was traveling southbound near the 124 exit ramp when it hydroplaned, crossed the median into the northbound lanes,” Floyd said. “Another vehicle was traveling northbound on I-79 and the vehicles made contact, but there was very minor damage to the vehicle struck. The vehicle that hydroplaned was towed due to damage from crossing the median.”

The vehicle was removed from the scene by Dan Riggs Towing.

Bridgeport Fire and Emergency also responded to the accidents on Route 131 and Interstate 79.
