Clarksburg Man Trafficking Heroin Near Playground in Harrison County Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison

Randy Joe Jones, 33, of Clarksburg, was sentenced today to 30 months in prison for heroin trafficking, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
 
Jones sold heroin near Harrison Street Park in Harrison County. He pled guilty in January 2016 to one count of “Distribution of Heroin within 1,000 feet of a Protected Location.”
 
Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Adkins prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated.
 
The Bridgeport Police Department has members on the Task Force. Chief John Walker is the chairman.
 
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
