Criminal Trial Date set with Former Harrison County Sheriff’s Deputy in Road Rage Case; Civil Case Filed

According to MetroNews, the former Harrison County Sheriff’s deputy charged with battery after a road rage incident in Morgantown will go to trial in March, but a separate trial for a recently filed civil suit has not yet been scheduled.
 
William Sothen, 63, of Salem, was charged with misdemeanor battery following an incident on Van Voorhis Road in Morgantown. A video that later went viral appears to show Sothen putting his hands on a women, identified as Amber Generally, and taking her to the ground. The incident occured Aug. 28, 2017. Sothen retired from the Sheriff’s Department last January.
 
The criminal trial is scheduled for March 19.
