DHHR Reports 94 New COVID Cases; Harrison County's Number at 6,118; State Deaths at 2,849

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources is reporting as of this morning (Friday, June 11) the total number of COVID-19 cases has increased from 162,845 to 162,939; an increase of 94.
 
Friday's report is showing that the total number of tests given is 2,936,873 and the percentage of positive cases vs. tests given is 5.10 percent. The daily percent positive is at 1.95 percent (daily tests/confirmatory test results).
 
According to the DHHR website, Harrison County's numbers are at 6,118 (4,230 confirmed cases,1,888 probable cases), 156 active cases, and 80 deaths with 5,882 recoveries.
 
Please note that delays may be experienced with the reporting of information from the local health department to DHHR. As case surveillance continues at the local health department level, it may reveal that those tested in a certain county may not be a resident of that county, or even the state as an individual in question may have crossed the state border to be tested. 
 
The total number of deaths related to the coronavirus has increased from 2,848 to 2,849. 
 
DHHR has confirmed the death of a 64-year old male from Marshall County. 
 
“As we send our condolences to this family, keep in mind that vaccines save lives,” said Bill J. Crouch, DHHR Cabinet Secretary. “I urge you to choose the COVID vaccine for yourself and for your children age 12 and older.”
 
The number of recoveries from the virus is at 156,990 with active cases at 3,100. 
 
According to the DHHR site, there are 139 hospitalizations as of June 10.
